An audiovisual digital artwork made from Dragon Carpet Fragment #41 In our work we weave past and future, tradition and innovation, craftsmanship and digital art. The fragment of a historical carpet - once a symbol of protection, spirituality and harmony - becomes the starting point for a new story.
“One cannot exist without the other.”
Warp and weft, the basic structure of every woven carpet, represent opposites that attract and merge in movement. Guided by hand and at the same time enhanced by technology, individual threads create new connections that form a common whole. Our digital artwork brings the Dragon Carpet fragment to new life. Lines, colors and shapes flow together in an audiovisual rhythm, inspired by the original symbolism of Caucasian and Oriental carpets. It is a dance of light and structure, of history and innovation - a visual fabric that transcends the boundaries of the material. Destruction and rebirth are reflected in the fragment. Where war, fire and time frayed the carpet, a new pile is created through art - a sign of love, hope and change. This work is a tribute to the interweaving of cultures, to the beauty of the imperfect and to the power of the human hand. In the digital transformation of the old dragon carpet, past stories, hidden memories and the eternal connection between people, material and art can be found.
The Museum for Islamic Art's project, #CulturalxCollabs - Weaving the future, celebrates the transformative power of cultural exchange and the shared threads that unite us all. All the things we love, have loved and will ever love come from cultural exchange, migration and diversity, or as we like to call it #CulturalxCollabs.
100 carpet fragments, cut from a replica of the iconic dragon carpet, will travel the world (delivered by DHL). The fragments will ignite #CulturalxCollabs with co-creators, inspiring human ingenuity, fostering community and ultimately demonstrating how cultural exchange enriches all our lives.

The star of the "CulturalxCollabs - Weaving the Future" project is a so-called Caucasian dragon carpet from the 17th century. A dragon carpet - all well and good - but: where is the dragon?
